 Solar Thermal or Solar Hot Water Systems
Solar Thermal Power - Solar thermal systems use the Sun ray's to heat our homes and water. Instead of using oil, gas and electricity, the system uses solar thermal collectors which collect the heat energy and disperse it through the water in our heating and plumbing systems. Solar thermal power is frequently used to heat pool water whereby the sun heats special chemicals which intern heat water which is piped through it. Concentrated Solar Power also using the the thermal or heating properties of the sun but rooftop solar themal is designed for homes and smaller commercial entities. The picture above shows solar thermal panels mounted on a roof. Another common site is a black tarp like array on a rooftop that helps to focus the suns ray on tubes or chambers beneath it (mentioned above.) This is usually used to heat pools or spas and can supplement an existing traditional water home water heating system.
