Arizona receives an average of 6 hours of sun 365 days of the year and the temperatures fluctuate from very hot to pretty darn cold. Arizona, being mostly desert, has dry atmospheric conditions that lead to temperature extremes and that translates into high electric bills and amazing savings and solar incentives, if you install a solar system.

Solar Rebates for Arizona Homeowners - UES Sunshare Up Front Incentives
The state of Arizona like many other states is providing significant rebates and incentives to help you install a solar system so that you can generate your own electricity. The Sunshare Up Front Incentives program provides funds to qualified homeowners to offset the cost of installing solar panel (photo voltaic), solar water and solar space heating systems. To review the complete details of this program you may visit http://www.uesaz.com.
Solar Panel System Rebates
As of September, 2011, the rebate for a Photo Voltaic (Solar Panel) System is $1.30 per watt d.c. and will not amount to more than 50% of the total cost of the entire renewable energy improvement project. These rates change as more people take advantage of the rebates so please act quickly before the rebate level drops any further and be sure to check the http://www.uesaz.com web site for the current rebate level when you are ready to make your solar purchase. If you are interested in a solar system now give us a call at 928-505-2132 or use our solar contact form so that we can answer your questions.

Solar Incentive, Rebate, Permitting and Installation
Once you have your quotes which will include the rebate amount that your project qualifies for, a reservation for the rebate must be submitted to the UESAZ. When the reservation is approved usually within a day or two this amount is then deducted from the cost of your installed solar system and the permitting process begins. See our solar services page more a detailed breakdown of our Go Solar services.
After receiving the permit your solar contractor may then install your solar system. Now you will normally generate more energy than you will be using at any given time and the excess energy must be managed and accounted for using the Grid-tied or Off-grid mechanism.
The following applies to Grid-Tied solar systems.
Once your system is installed it will be directly connected up to the utility grid. You may read about Solar off-grid mechanisms here. On most days you will generate more energy than you will use so with your home electrical/solar system tied into the utility grid the excess energy is fed back into the utility grid and supplements the amount of electricity available for consumption. Having your system tied into the Utility grid is the most beneficial and cost effective way to manage the excess energy that you will generate. The excess energy produced is then available for use and offsets how much power the utility must create. At the same time the amount of energy you supplied remains as a credit on your account with the utility to use at a leater date if you need it.
The grid tied system is called Net-Metering. Here the excess energy generated is stored for you to draw against on the days that you generate less energy than you are using. In Arizona you will likely generate more electricity than you use every day, but a rain or sandstorm could obscure the sun for a few hours and you will depend on the public utility during these times. Fortunately, almost immediately after installing your system you will begin accruing a credit balance and have free electricity.
